AWA Board member, Strategic Advisor to lead investor Lupa Systems, and TV veteran, Matthew Anderson, will take on the newly created position of Co-Chairman leading all company operations, effective immediately. Anderson’s experience includes senior roles at Sky, News Corp/21st Century Fox and Roku, where he was CMO and frequently recognized as one of the world’s most innovative marketers. After serving as founding CEO since 2018, Bill Jemas has stepped down. Former Marvel executives, Jemas and Axel Alonso, and media veteran Jon Miller founded AWA with the goal of building a creator first company where the most talented artists, writers, and artisans could do their best work and retain ownership of what they create. Since its inception, AWA has created over 40 original series, and set up numerous film and TV projects with major entertainment companies including Warner Bros. Discovery and Fremantle.

AWA Chairman Jon Miller made the announcements to the staff today, saying, “I’m thrilled to welcome Matthew to the new position of Co-chairman where he will oversee all company operations and focus on future growth in Publishing, Film & TV, and the opportunities enabled by Web3.” Miller added: “Bill has played a valuable role in AWA’s inception and pursuit of its mission to produce bold, original stories. I wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

“I’m delighted to expand my relationship with AWA, and shepherd the company operations, and exceptional creative and executive team. As a lifelong fan of graphic fiction, I’m energized by the potential to expand AWA’s ability to build franchises and universes in Publishing, Film, Television and the emerging world of Web3”, said Anderson.
